We read with interest the recent issue of Journal of Analytical Toxicology concerning cases of N-Ethyl Pentylone (Ephylone) intoxications (1). The Drug Enforcement Administration classifies eutylone as a Schedule 1 substance and deems it unacceptable for medical use in the U.S. since there is a high potential for abuse. As the authors point out, the emergence of N-Ethyl Pentylone, on the recreational drug market was reported in drug seizures for the first time in 2016 in Europe and the United States
